The President of the United States published two posts to Truth Social on the morning of April 7, 2026, the date designated Power Plant Day and Bridge Day in Iran, with strikes scheduled for 8:00 PM Eastern Time.
The first post, published at approximately 7:20 AM, read as follows: “Two more major pharmaceutical companies to launch products through TrumpRx.” The post linked to a news report confirming that Abbvie and Genentech are expected to become the 10th and 11th drug-making companies to release products at a discounted rate on the TrumpRx portal, joining other companies including AstraZeneca and Eli Lilly. The TrumpRx portal is a federal initiative providing Americans access to prescription medications at reduced prices.
The second post, published eight minutes later at approximately 7:28 AM, read as follows: “A whole civilization will die tonight, never to be brought back again. I don’t want that to happen, but it probably will. However, now that we have Complete and Total Regime Change, where different, smarter, and less radicalized minds prevail, maybe something revolutionarily wonderful can happen, WHO KNOWS? We will find out tonight, one of the most important moments in the long and complex history of the World. 47 years of extortion, corruption, and death, will finally end. God Bless the Great People of Iran!”
This correspondent notes that the second post represents a revision to the President’s previously stated position on regime change in Iran. In his Easter Lunch remarks on April 1, the President stated that regime change was never the stated objective and that the United States obtained it by accident, describing the outcome as accidental on two occasions. The April 7 post describes regime change as Complete and Total. The President has not addressed this terminological adjustment. The power plants are scheduled to be struck at 8:00 PM Eastern.
